Mark tegmark life 3.05/10/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() How can we grow our prosperity through automation, without leaving people lacking income or purpose? How can we ensure that future AI systems do what we want without crashing, malfunctioning or getting hacked? Should we fear an arms race in lethal autonomous weapons? Will AI help life flourish as never before, or will machines eventually outsmart us at all tasks, and even, perhaps, replace us altogether? In this deeply researched and vitally important new book, Tegmark takes us to the heart of thinking about AI and the human condition, bringing us face to face with the essential questions of our time. ![]() More than any other technology, AI has the potential to revolutionize our collective future - and there's nobody better situated to explore that future than Max Tegmark, an MIT professor and co-founder of the Future of Life Institute, whose work has helped mainstream research on how to keep AI beneficial. What was once science fiction is fast becoming reality, as AI transforms war, crime, justice, jobs and society-and, even, our very sense of what it means to be human. ![]()

Grisha trilogy ruin and rising book 35/10/2023 ![]() I definitely wouldn’t call this book spicy. In this book there is a make out scene against a wall, but if you’ve already been exposed to this kind of writing it’s fine. ![]() There is no sex in this book but in Ruin and Rising ( the third book in the trilogy) there is one scene that isn’t descriptive at all. I would have rated this 10+ but I feel like this reading level is a little high for people that age-even as someone who has been an advanced reader my whole life, this would have too much for me at 10. There is mild violence including creatures called colors devouring people but it’s not described and definitely appropriate for anyone over 10. I haven’t gotten to reading it yet, but It’s in the same universe and I’ve heard nothing but good things. I think this is great for people who love six of crows and want more of the grishaverse. He diversity becomes better as you read her other books. I will admit that there isn’t a lot of diversity and it wasn’t Leigh bardugo’s best book.but it was also her first book. Now with a stunning new cover and exclusive bonus material: The Demon in the Wood (a Darkling prequel story) and a Q&A with Leigh Bardugo. Perfect for fans of Laini Taylor and Sarah J. It gets a lot of hate, but I think it’s great. Enter the Grishaverse with book three of the Shadow and Bone Trilogy by number one New York Times-bestselling author Leigh Bardugo. I don’t want to say anything else because I don’t want to spoil anything, but you can look up the back blurb online. ![]() So basically shadow and bone takes place in the Grishaverse where the Grisha which have powers rule over the regular class. ![]()
